Scott Dueser is president and CEO of First Financial Bankshares, Inc. and chairman of the board of First Financial Bank, Abilene.
Mr. Dueser began his career as an assistant bank examiner with the Federal Reserve Bank in Dallas, Texas. He joined the First Financial Bank, Abilene (formerly known as First National Bank of Abilene) as a management trainee in 1976. Over the next 15 years, he moved up the organization and was named president and a director of First Financial Bank, Abilene in 1991. He added the title of chief executive officer of First Financial Bank, Abilene in 1993. In 1999, he was named executive vice president of First Financial Bankshares, Inc., and he became president and CEO of First Financial Bankshares, Inc. and chairman of the board of First Financial Bank, Abilene in 2000.
Mr. Dueser has been involved with several professional, civic, and social activities, including having served on the boards of directors of Abilene Industrial Foundation, Abilene Higher Education Facilities Inc., Hendrick Medical Center Foundation, United Way of Abilene, and West Texas Rehabilitation Center. He is also past chairman of the Texas Tech University Board of Regents. He is a past member of the Bank Pac Committee for American Bankers Association and former chairman of the Texas Bankers Association.
Mr. Dueser received his BBA in Finance and Accounting from Texas Tech University. In 2006, he received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Rawl’s College of Business at Texas Tech University. Mr. Dueser is married with four children.
