Mick Blodnick has 27 years experience in the banking industry and has been involved in nearly every aspect of the business, including purchasing banks, stock conversion, computer conversions, brokerage, and Series 7. He has been president of Glacier Bancorp, Inc. since 1993. He was elected to the Glacier Bancorp’s board of directors in 1993 and has been a member of the board of directors for First Security Bank of Missoula since 1997, Valley Bank of Helena since 1998, Big Sky Western Bank since January 1999, Mountain West Bank of Coeur d'Alene since 2000, Western Security Bank since 2001, and First National Bank-West and Citizens Community Bank since 2005.
Blodnick worked for Glacier Bank, a Montana bank with 11 offices an investment subsidiary, from 1978 to 2004, starting out as a customer service representative. He served as the bank’s CEO from July 1998 to December 2001, overseeing investment policies and procedures, investing short-term liquidity, cash management, savings and checking departments' policies and procedures, marketing and public relations, day-to-day branch operations, major expenses, operation costs and ATM implementation.
Blodnick received a B.S. in Sociology/Psychology from the University of Montana. He has completed several banking schools, including the Sheshunoff Professional Master of Banking School in 1998 and the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington in 1993.
