Letter From the Chairman

Dear Colleague,

The ATM and card-based payment markets are some of the fastest changing and most exciting segments of the retail banking industry today. The ATM market is at a crossroads, as consumer demand for free access competes with deployers’ search for greater fee income. Debit has been a payments phenomenon but there are signs of slowing growth; issuers’ top priorities this year are rewards to drive growth and risk management to minimize fraud losses. Questions abound related to prepaid: some recent studies suggest the market is much smaller than widely believed while continued innovation is creating new payment market segments.

The ATM, Debit & Prepaid Forum addresses each of these three inter-related markets in a direct, thought-provoking fashion. First-rate keynote speakers and organizations, along with our annual Network Showcase, bringing together the leading payment networks in the US on one stage, anchor our conference.

The sessions in each of the conference tracks have been selected to focus on the most topical issues. They include:

  • The ATM track:
    • The Future of ATMs and the Future of Cash, Surcharge-Free Networks, and ATM Service Delivery
    • Speakers from Allpoint, CO-OP Network, Diebold, MoneyPass, National City, NCR, PNC, Wachovia, US Bank and Wincor-Nixdorf
  • The Debit track:
    • The Future of Debit, Rewards, Fraud Prevention, Debit Product Development, and New Benchmarking Research
    • Speakers from Bank of Hawaii, MasterCard, Vesdia, and Wells Fargo
  • The Prepaid track:
    • The Future of Prepaid, Prepaid Innovation, Reloadable Prepaid Cards, and a debate on the size of the prepaid market
    • Speakers from Aite, Celent, Discover, Galileo, Green Dot, MasterCard, Mercator and Visa
  • Emerging Payments Track:
    • Designed to help financial institutions find the 'next big thing'
    • Sessions addressing mobile banking, mobile payments, serving the underbanked, serving the youth market, and alternative payments
    • Speakers from Obopay, Citibank, Paypal, The Center for Financial Services Innovation, Washington Mutual, Edgar Dunn & Company, The Federal Reserve, Oliver Wyman and Alston & Bird

Beyond the content, the ATM, Debit & Prepaid Forum offers a great opportunity to reconnect with industry colleagues, both old and new. Attracting more than 500 decision-makers every year, this event has become the focal point for exchanging ideas and learnings about the latest technologies from leading providers.

I encourage you to join me on October 5-7 at Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa in Phoenix, AZ, for what promises to be a very compelling program.

Regards,

Tony Hayes
Conference Chairman
