Mr. Doe is President of Municipal Market Advisors (MMA), an independent research and strategy firm for leading investment institutions involved in the fixed-income industry. Founded in 1995, MMA provides consulting services, benchmark data and subscription research reports to a diverse client base of more than 150 dealers, investors and issuers engaged in the tax-exempt market. Mr. Doe’s leadership was recognized when he was named to a 3-year term with the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board, (MSRB) the regulatory entity of the municipal securities industry in 2002. In addition, he has also recently been named by Smith’s Research and Ratings as one of the top Municipal Strategists as determined by a poll of more than 1000 investors. He has been frequently quoted in The Bond Buyer, Bloomberg News, Reuters, Dow Jones Newswires, and the Wall Street Journal.

Matt Fabian

Mr. Fabian has been a municipal analyst for thirteen years and is the author of The Weekly Outlooksm. He has been the Senior Analyst with Municipal Market Advisors since July 2006 and is located in Westport, CT. Prior to his current position, Mr. Fabian served as the lead municipal research analyst for UBS and headed up a group within UBS Wealth Management Research, the award-winning division of 150 analysts and economists supporting the company’s $1.3 trillion in invested wealth management assets. Mr. Fabian was the prime resource on municipal bond research for the UBS network of nearly 7,500 US financial advisors, while also advising the company’s institutional trading and investment-banking clients. Mr. Fabian was also an underwriting analyst with a municipal bond insurer for four years, and a municipal rating analyst with Moody’s Investors Service for three years. Mr. Fabian is currently on the Executive Board of the Municipal Analysts Group of New York and is a member of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts.

Chip Norton is the Managing Director of Fixed Income and Portfolio Manager of the Tax Advantaged Debt Fund. Mr. Norton has over 24 years experience in the investment business and is involved in a full range of investment and research activities for Fortigent, including asset allocation, investment strategies and portfolio analysis. He oversees the search and selection of Fortigent’s fixed income and low volatility managers and strategies, assists in the evaluation and selection of alternative investment strategies, and is a member of the Investment Committee.

James C. Wangsness

Jim Wangsness, COO has 22 years experience in financial services. He joined TheMuniCenter (TMC) in 2006 with a mandate to grow revenue, expand its taxable presence, upgrade tax-exempt software solutions, and effect selective acquisitions. Prior to joining TMC, he was Managing Director of Ameritrade Institutional where he led its businesses catering to independent RIAs, correspondent clearing brokers, and bank co-brand partners. Mr. Wangsness also worked on online investor products (Amerivest – retail-oriented managed accounts) and was a key member of Ameritrade’s M&A due diligence and integration teams.
Previously, Mr. Wangsness was CEO of two venture backed companies –Inventure Technologies (a derivatives trading entity), PortfolioScope (a retail investor cost basis tracking application)—as well as co-Managing Partner of Zacks Investment Research. Earlier in his career, Mr. Wangsness was a Vice President-Global Custody at JP Morgan & Co. Mr. Wangsness earned his MBA from Columbia Business School and BA from Columbia College.
