Paul Rosenstiel

Paul Rosenstiel was appointed Deputy Treasurer by State Treasurer Bill Lockyer when the Treasurer took office in January 2007. In that position, he oversees the issuance of debt for the State and represents the Treasurer on several authorities and commissions. Prior to joining the Treasurer’s Office, Mr. Rosenstiel was a public finance investment banker in California from 1983 to 2005. After working for Wall Street firms in the early years of his career, he spent ten years managing the San Francisco office of De La Rosa & Co. As a banker, he worked on bond issues for the State of California and many local governments in the State. From 2005 to 2006, Mr. Rosenstiel was policy director for the Steve Westly for Governor campaign. He received his MBA from Stanford University.
