Iain Briggs is a managing director in the FTI Healthcare (formerly Cambio Health Solutions) and is based in Brentwood, Tennessee. Mr. Briggs has 25 years of experience in turnaround management, financial restructuring and mergers and acquisitions. His areas of specialty include operational improvement, bankruptcy reorganizations, business development, strategic planning, managed care and creditor relations. He works closely with hospital boards, executive management and the healthcare lending community.
Mr. Briggs has served as chief executive officer (CEO) and chief financial officer (CFO) and acted as advisor on turnaround projects. He has worked on the sale/merger/reorganization of more than 20 acute care hospitals, specialty hospitals, PHOs, HMOs and TPAs. In all cases, EBITDA improvement or recovery exceeded expectations.
Mr. Briggs has been with FTI/Cambio for twelve years and joined FTI in 2005 with FTI’s acquisition of Cambio Health Solutions. He previously served as senior manager for Deloitte & Touche, where he provided a broad range of merger and acquisition, turnaround and restructuring advisory services focusing on operational and financial improvement. At a public U.K. marketing services company he was responsible for international acquisitions (Europe, Middle East and the United States) and oversaw the operational management and integration of several subsidiaries. He moved to the United States in 1989, where he has served as CEO and CFO to support the turnaround of several healthcare and financial service companies.
Mr. Briggs has a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Nottingham, England. He is a chartered accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). He is a frequent speaker at the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), the National Federation of Municipal Analysts (NFMA) and other healthcare finance gatherings.
