Terry Zink is executive vice president of affiliate administration for Fifth Third Bancorp while maintaining his duties as president and chief executive officer of Fifth Third Bank Chicago, one of the fastest growing affiliates in the Fifth Third Bancorp network. He joined the company in January 2005 after serving nearly 17 years with Wells Fargo & Company. His most recent position was executive vice president/region president of Wells Fargo Bank, Nebraska.
As executive vice president of affiliate administration, Mr. Zink is responsible for overseeing all of the Bank’s 18 affiliates. He also manages Retail and Business Banking for all of the Bank’s affiliate distribution channels and oversees product development and alignment.
As president and CEO of the Chicago affiliate, Mr. Zink manages the Bank’s strategic growth throughout Chicagoland and Northern Indiana. This role includes overseeing operations for the second-largest affiliate in the Fifth Third network, which includes approximately 1,900 employees, 164 banking centers (and growing), and more than $10 billion in assets.
Building upon his career-long commitment to supporting the development of strong communities, Mr. Zink, 55, is implementing banking programs that make a positive impact on the people and neighborhoods it serves. Under his direction, the bank is spearheading various community programs and initiatives that stress the importance and responsibility of managing personal finances. Mr. Zink is also leading the Bank’s campaign to emphasize the power of learning by supporting local school systems through donations and other educational programs.
In his most recent role with Wells Fargo Bank Nebraska, Mr. Zink oversaw operations at all retail banking centers, private client investment services offices and small business-banking hubs in the state. Before that, Mr. Zink worked as senior vice president/region president for Wells Fargo’s Greater Southern California Division, where he managed 81 branches with $6.5 billion in deposits and 1,250 employees. He has served in several other senior management positions since beginning his career with Wells Fargo in 1989.
Mr. Zink earned his bachelor of arts degree in business management from St. Mary’s College in Moraga, California. He is Chairman of the 2006 Metro Chicago Heart Walk (American Heart Association) and a member of the Board of Trustees for the Adler Planetarium and the Advocate Charitable Foundation as well as the Board of Directors for the Chicagoland Chamber of Commercial. He is also a member of the Executives’ Club of Chicago, the Commercial Club of Chicago and the Illinois Bankers' Association.
