Peter J. “Jack” Basso joined AASHTO as Chief Operating Officer and Business Development Director in March of 2001. In that capacity, he oversees the management of a thirty three million non profit organizations representing the interests of State Departments of Transportation. He develops new member services, and more aggressively markets current technical services provided for AASHTO members. Mr. Basso works closely with Congressional staff and other associations who have mutual interests in Transportation financing issues.

Jim Bourgart was appointed in April 2006 by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Deputy Secretary for Transportation and Infrastructure in the Business, Transportation and Housing Agency. Prior to joining the Administration, Jim was a government relations manager and transportation planner for a major transportation engineering firm for 15 years.

Mr. Campbell comes to Amtrak with more than 20 years experience as a CFO. He was the CFO for the Department of Veterans Affairs, the second largest cabinet agency, managing a $65 billion annual budget. He also served as Chief Engineer and Deputy Commander for the Naval Supply Systems Command, and served for nine years as the CFO for the United States Coast Guard. Most recently, Campbell served as a Director in the Federal CFO Advisory Services practice at KPMG LLP in Washington, DC.

Tyler Duvall is the Assistant Secretary for Transportation Policy in the Office of the Secretary at the U.S. Department of Transportation. He was nominated by President Bush on January 17, 2006, and confirmed on May 26, 2006, by the Senate following his confirmation hearing. Tyler currently works closely with the Department’s senior leadership in the development of transportation policies.

Steve currently is the Executive Director of the Northwest Parkway Public Highway Authority, and also served as Executive Director for the E-470 Public Highway Authority from 1991 – 1998.

Kris Kolluri was sworn into office as Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) on March 13, 2006.

Prior to that, Kolluri specialized in redevelopment and transportation law as an attorney at Parker McCay of Marlton.

Kolluri was Chief of Staff to New Jersey Transportation Commissioner Jack Lettiere. In this capacity, he served as counselor to the Commissioner and managed the development and implementation of the department's legislative and regulatory policies and communications strategies.

Mr. Mendez was appointed Director of the Department on October 23, 2001. Prior to his appointment as Director, Mr. Mendez served as Deputy Director of the Department since September, 1999.

Governor Martin O’Malley appointed Beverley K. Swaim-Staley as Deputy Secretary of the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) effective January 17, 2007. In this capacity, she serves as the Chief Operating Officer for a 9,000-employee department that operates Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, the Port of Baltimore, an extensive mass transit and highway network, as well as the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration.
