Rob is Senior Counsel for the financial services division of Target Corporation – the parent company of Target National Bank, one of the top ten consumer credit card issuers in the U.S. In his role, he provides primary legal support for the financial services division’s operational functions, including Collections, Consumer Reporting, Risk Management, Fraud Prevention, Electronic Payments, Disputes, and Litigation Management functions.
Before joining Target, Rob was Senior Counsel for a service provider of risk management services for retailers and financial institutions. In that position, he provided counsel to consumer reporting agency, collections agency, and business process outsourcing affiliates, negotiated strategic contracts, and served as a leader on the company’s privacy council. Rob began his career as a financial institution regulator and previously worked for a large financial institution, focusing on regulatory compliance issues. Rob was a contributing author of the American Bar Association’s “International Corporate Privacy Handbook”.
Outside of work, Rob is an avid percussionist and music aficionado. He is the drummer for “The Sunny Era” (an independent rock band located in Minneapolis) and has been a dedicated fan, participant, and instructor of the Drum & Bugle Corps activity.
Rob received his Juris Doctor degree from The Ohio State University College of Law, and his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Ohio University.
