Doug LaVelle serves as the Director of the Business Relationship Management team at Corporate Express (CE), a worldwide distributor of office related products and services with gross revenues in excess of $8B.  CE services the needs of 90% of the fortune 500 companies in North America and transacts more than 70% of its sales via eWay, a proprietary Internet website.  Mr. LaVelle and his team operate as technology consultants and play a leadership role in devising new IT capabilities that are required to support CE’s strategic business initiatives.

Mr. LaVelle and his team have most recently been working on initiatives to implement an MDM architecture for both Customer and Product data.  These two programs are the foundation which will support a third program being undertaken that will re-architect the e-commerce engine at CE.    The focus of the MDM initiatives is to simplify the enterprise architecture while providing significant business benefits by exposing a more complete, accurate and rich set of information.
