Retired
Shell
Tom Gulman has worked in the Exploration and Production area of the Oil Industry for 33 years. He recently retired from Shell after 28 years where he held jobs in Resource Management, Applications Development, Integration and Data Management and most recently as Data Architect on a Global SAP implementation for Shell E&P. He has worked in 7 countries on 4 continents.
Mr. Gulman has been immersed in the globalization trend in applications and processes. Applications that were once developed to local requirements became global applications that still were customized to meet local requirements and more recently, became global applications that are now being implemented centrally to common requirements. Each of these steps necessitates a step change in how the data (both master data and transactions) are managed. The change management and organizational commitment is significant and is still more of a journey than a clear destination.
Mr. Gulman has a BS in Electrical Engineering from Cooper Union and a MBA from Webster University |
