Mr. Dan Veto has spent a career uncovering the drivers of customer engagement. His extensive work in the financial services industry includes developing tools and approaches to help companies and their sales people effectively tap into both the rational and emotional motivators of consumer behavior.

Referred to by many as the “father of Retirement Bridge™,” Mr. Veto worked with Ken Dychtwald, Ph.D. and the team at Age Wave to lead the successful launch of Retirement Bridge™, a first of its kind customer engagement tool. Retirement Bridge™ was specifically designed to help financial professionals and their boomer clients effectively engage on the critical non-financial elements of forming a strong advisory relationship. The tool utilizes a highly engineered online survey and customized outputs to help the client and the financial professional develop a meaningful, satisfying professional relationship much more quickly than ever before possible. After successfully piloting Retirement Bridge™, the Allstate Insurance Company purchased the tool from Age Wave for exclusive use by its financial professionals.

Prior to launching the Retirement Bridge™ business at Age Wave, Mr. Veto served on the Board of Directors, was Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning at Bankers Life and Casualty Company. At Bankers he commissioned a unique type of research that provided powerful insight into the emotional drivers and blockers of retirement-related purchasing behavior. Mr. Veto and his team then transformed this research into a company-wide, national training program designed to help employees and sales people effectively engage with consumers. This award-winning initiative helped the company achieve successive all-time sales records.

Mr. Veto is currently president of Retirement Spark!, a research and consulting company he founded to help organizations more effectively connect with their boomer and retiree customers and prospects. The company works with leading institutions that want to more fully engage with consumers in an effort to move beyond just the rational, product based approach to sales and marketing.

Mr. Veto began his career at McKinsey & Company, where for nearly ten years he advised clients in the U.S., Mexico and throughout Europe. Mr. Veto earned an M.B.A. from INSEAD, in Fontainebleau, France and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois, in Urbana-Champaign.
