Jim McCarthy serves as senior vice president of consumer credit products for Visa USA. Working closely with Visa’s Member financial institutions and merchants, he is responsible for the coordination, deployment and management of consumer credit products and services in the United States. Until November 2004, McCarthy led Visa USA’s Emerging Products group, spearheading e-Commerce and Chip initiatives, including the launch of Verified by Visa, smart Visa and Visa Extras. Prior to joining Visa, McCarthy worked at IBM where he served as the senior client representative to Bank of America, responsible for development of joint business strategies.

He is responsible for directing all facets of DFS’s Merchant relationships including operations, sales, product development, and Merchant marketing. He is also a member of the Discover Financial Services Global Management Committee.
Prior to assuming his role with Discover Network, Harit was the Managing Director of Morgan Stanley’s Consumer Banking Group International.
