Jerry Ripperger is the Director of Consumer Health for the Principal Financial Group. For more than 20 years, he has been involved in developing and implementing health coverage for owners and employees of growing businesses.

Ripperger is an expert on all aspects of consumer driven healthcare, including health savings accounts (HSAs) and wellness programs. He is a recognized industry authority, spokesperson and author, with work printed in such notable trade publications as HR Magazine, Employee Benefit News, The Talent Economy, Benefits Selling, and Best’s Review. He is also a thought leader, serving as an expert source on consumer health care for such prominent media outlets as the Associated Press, BusinessWeek, New York Times, Forbes, CNN/Money and Dow Jones.

Working in a wide range of industries, Rob spent the first half of his business career focused on developing, implementing, and managing employee benefit strategies for employers with between 250 - 20,000 employees.

In addition to his day-to-day responsibilities, Ripperger routinely tours the country educating employee benefit brokers on how to best serve business owners in meeting the challenge of rising healthcare costs with consumer driven healthcare plan models.
