A panel discussion led by industry executives from the credit and collections industries will outline proven techniques and strategies for locating debtors enrolled in debt settlement programs and analyzing these accounts to uncover highly-liquid settlement opportunities.

This session will provide an overview of the history and formation of The Association of Settlement Companies (TASC) and the efforts this industry trade association is undertaking to develop standards of operation for member companies that are designed to ensure compliance with State and Federal regulatory requirements though self-governance, review and auditing of its membership. This session will also outline the consumer protection efforts the association is undertaking as well as provide an overview of the type of legislative and regulatory proposals the association supports and is working to have enacted at the state and federal levels.

Other regulatory issues relating to the FTC, Consumer Financial Protection Act and updates on recent legislation introduced at the state level will be discussed.
