Mr. Blatt has served as counsel for major corporate law departments in the retail and banking industry including Citicorp. In that position he supervised ongoing litigation by outside firms in numerous states. He is involved in monitoring legislation and lobbyists on the federal level, has appeared before senate sub-committee hearings on new laws and legislation on the state level and works with attorneys general as a liaison in the several states. His prior experience includes Marine Midland Bank and Dun & Bradstreet.
His law firm specializes in retail and commercial collections, debt buying, business and real estate matters and engages in a general civil litigation practice before all courts throughout Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Virginia. He serves as a national speaker and lecturer for NARCA, Source Media, Credit and Collection News, CLLA, IACC, Lorman Education, the National Business Institute, CRS/Resource Management; Global Debt Collection Summit.
Mr. Blatt has extensive involvement in the debt buying industry and is a Member of the Board of Directors and serves as President –Elect and National Legislative Chairman of DBA International. Mr. Blatt served as President of NARCA (a distinguished national legal association) and is a permanent ex-officio member of the Board of Directors. He is a Member of the (CLLA) Commercial Law League of America and serves and serves as Chairman of the Retail Collections Section and Vice President of the CRS Executive Council. He is a MAP and Asset Buyer Division (ABD) Member of ACA International and is a Mediator for the Baltimore City and Baltimore County Circuit Courts.
He is the immediate Past President of the MD/DC Creditors Bar Association. Mr. Blatt is a National Arbitrator for Better Business Bureau and was appointed by the County Executive to the Baltimore County Charter Review Commission. He also served as the President of Kiwanis International – Pikesville.
In 2004, he organized and formed the Joint Association Summit (JAS) comprised of only the Presidents and Executive Directors of NARCA, DBA International, CLLA, ACA International and IACC.
Mr. Blatt is a recipient of the Outstanding Community Service Award from the Better Business Bureau, a member of Who’s Who Worldwide Registry of Business Leaders, former Adjunct Professor at the University of Baltimore and serves with the Health Claims Arbitration Panel of Maryland acting as Chairman of panels hearing malpractice cases.
