Joanna Black is Partner and Co-Founder of G-Squared Group, a New York-based sustainability marketing consultancy. G-Squared helps companies communicate sustainability initiatives to stakeholders, or market its products and services in a sustainable way. An organizational stakeholder of the Global Reporting Initiative and an endorser of the EPA’s WasteWise program, G-Squared Group offers marketing and communication solutions for companies of all sizes—from start-ups to large multinational corporations.

A seasoned entrepreneur, Ms. Black also co-founded Hip E Living, an eco-lifestyle retailer serving environmentally conscious consumers through its physical store and its website, www.hipEliving.com.

Prior to founding G-Squared Group, Ms. Black was principal of PR and communications firm Blink New York for six years. Earlier in her career, Ms. Black was a marketing consultant in the IT industry and worked with many Fortune 500 companies to develop employee and stakeholder communications programs.

Ms. Black’s career client roster includes companies of all sizes from a blend of industries, including: News America Incorporated, Nortel Networks, Lucent Technologies, 3Com, New York Fashion Week, Pure Food and Wine, and iSkin. Prior to founding G-Squared Group with Ms. Black, partner Matt Garrison worked or consulted for some of the largest financial services organizations in North America, including: Wachovia, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan, Bank of Montreal, Fidelity Investments, The Vanguard Group, and Lincoln Financial Group.

Ms. Black majored in Environment and Resource Studies at the University of Waterloo in Canada.
