Craig Bedell brings 31 years experience in insurance to his role as global insurance industry director at Cognos. Craig is a driving force behind the company’s global strategic offerings to the Insurance Vertical and is directing the sales, marketing, and services strategies for Business Intelligence and Performance Management solutions.
Prior to Cognos, Bedell was the director of global insurance services at Pitney Bowes MapInfo Corporation where he was responsible for establishing, implementing and maintaining the successful design and delivery of Location Intelligence services including data, technology, and professional services for the insurance industry. Craig’s unique combination of 18 years of field office sales, marketing, underwriting, and management experience with Aetna Casualty & Surety; The Travelers Insurance Company and Continental Insurance Company is augmented with seven years as a broker for one of the nations largest independently owned firms. Additionally, Craig has six years experience as an Internal Business Consultant and Business Architect in IT with the Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company.
Craig graduated with honors with a BA in Psychology and Business from Westminster College in Pennsylvania. He is an Associate of Risk Management and a licensed insurance broker.
