He has co-authored a book, "Climbing the Ladder of Business Intelligence" which defines a business framework for implementing a successful corporate BI strategy.

Jim, currently the CIO of Altera Corporation, is a keen advocate of converging IT to business goals. He draws on more than 30 years of executive leadership in software development, IT deployment and corporate management in leading companies including Brocade, Caritor, Synopsys, Silicon Graphics and IBM. He holds an MS in Computer and Information Science from Ohio State University where he currently serves on an advisory board. He is a recipient of Ohio State's Distinguished Alumnus Award from the College of Engineering.

Currently he is working with multiple financial institutions to address business requirements in the performance measurement area through innovative approaches to methodology, business process and the Oracle technology suite. Prior to joining BearingPoint, Mr. Garza consulted in the treasury and fixed income areas with a Chicago-based firm and served as Chief Financial Officer/Treasurer for a regional bank in the southwest.

Bill Jacobs is a Senior Evangelist Manager with Sybase's Enterprise Products Group, managing a technical team that works directly with Sybase's largest customers on integration projects that employ Sybase's Data Integration Suite, including Sybase Federation, Sybase Replication, Sybase ETL, Sybase Search and Sybase PowerDesigner.

Bill joined Sybase 7 years ago as Senior Product Manager for Sybase Integration products. Prior to Sybase, Bill held technical, marketing and management positions with HP, Apple and Netwise, Inc., an integration start-up acquired by Microsoft. He also has experience in several start-up companies supplying smart card and RFID solutions.

Bill holds a BSEE with Honors from the University of Missouri, and spends his spare time raising a family and restoring antique airplanes.
