Mr. Bizar practices business, financial services and consumer litigation and frequently represents companies in their highest stakes disputes challenging their products and services, corporate practices and regulatory adherence. For example, Mr. Bizar represents one of the nation's largest federal savings associations in a United States District Court action in New Hampshire challenging the lawfulness of its option ARM mortgage product. Mr. Bizar has represented financial institutions, pharmaceutical companies, internet and brick and mortar retailers, supermarket chains and other businesses in more than 20 consumer, product and employment class actions. In one matter, following the forced withdrawal of two putative class action suits, Mr. Bizar mediated and settled mass actions brought by over 500 individual plaintiffs who alleged that a manufacturer automotive finance company participated in and profited from a fraud ring in which an independent dealership and twelve of its employees were convicted in federal court.

Prior to joining McCarter, from 1995 to 1999 Mr. Bizar served in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps (JAG) with the 1st Cavalry Division as a prosecutor and chief of a legal assistance office, and with the Trial Defense Service attached to the 4th Infantry Division as a defense counsel. Mr. Bizar tried to verdict before juries and the court numerous felony general courts-martial, including two gang-related premeditated murder trials, one a double-homicide of national interest. In 1996, Mr. Bizar deployed to the Emirate of Kuwait during Operation Desert Strike with the 3rd Brigade Combat Team of the 1st Cavalry Division, where he served as the legal counsel to the commander and was awarded The Army Achievement Medal for meritorious service.

Mr. Bizar is a member of the firm's Pro Bono Committee and is very active in the bar and community. Among other activities, he has served as the Chair of the Consumer Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association and has taught Moot Court as an Adjunct at the University of Connecticut School of Law since 2005. He served as the liaison of the Business Law Section of the ABA to its Standing Committee on Legal Assistance to Military Personnel from 2007 to 2008. Mr. Bizar received the New Leaders of the Law, Advocacy of the Law Award from The Connecticut Law Tribune in 2003 and the Pro Bono Award from Lawyers for Children of America in 2002.
