Dr. Gary Lacefield has served as the Executive Vice-President and Director of Compliance for W.R. Starkey Mortgage for the past six years. He is also the principal consultant for the Risk Mitigation Group, a real estate-related financial consulting company specializing in fair lending & fair housing related issues, RESPA, predatory lending, insurance redlining, mortgage quality control, forensic mortgage audits and regulatory compliance-related issues. Dr. Lacefield has written over seventy-five expert reports and provided more than two dozen expert opinions and testimony in both state and federal court cases. Dr. Lacefield has over twenty years in the real estate related compliance arena including ten years with the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development as an investigator, supervisor of lending investigations, and senior civil rights analyst. During his time with HUD, Dr. Lacefield negotiated the twelve largest settlements in HUD history totaling over $10 Billion. Dr. Lacefield is a nationally certified arbitrator and mediator. He has beautiful wife of almost three decades, Malena, four children and five grandchildren.
