Gene received his Bachelor’s Degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting from Midland Lutheran College in 1985.  He has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1987 and received his Certified Financial Planner designation in 1993.  He has also completed the NASD Uniformed Combined State Law Examination and holds a Series 66 license. 

He is a charter member of the Association of Government Accountants, Omaha Chapter, past chairman and current member of the Nebraska Society of Certified Public Accountants State and Local Governmental Accounting and Auditing Committee, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and serves as the Nebraska representative and Chairman of the Peer Review committee that administers the peer review program for Nebraska CPA’s and three other states.

Gene also serves as the President of the Advance Leadership Network and serves on the Leadership Board for the Nebraska Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Commission for Accreditation for a National Association of Christian Colleges and Universities.  He is married and has three children.
