Jim Winslow has over 30 years of experince as a financial executive. For the past 20 years, his experience has been exclusively with highly leveraged companies. In his capacity as CFO, he has worked with a number of large and middle market lending institutions to obtain both asset and credit based financing. He has worked for public and private companies and has arranged senior, subordinate and lease lending facilities totaling in excess of $500 million. He has been involved in several troubled situations requiring the renegotiation of covenants and loan amendments. His background also includes extensive mergers and acquisitions work that was funded through senior bank financing. He has designed and deployed comprehensive customer, product line and factory profitability reporting to improve contribution margins and cash flow.
Jim began his career with Arthur Andersen & Co. in Chicago after graduation with an accounting degree from the University of Iowa. He passed the CPA exam while still in school and later earned a Masters of Management degree from Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. After leaving public accounting, he spent over 10 years with Wilson Sporting Goods, working his way from Assistant Controller to CFO. Jim’s career also includes another 10 plus years with Home Products International. As CFO, Jim arranged the financing to grow company sales from $30 million to $300 million via acquisition. This was accomplished with senior debt, high yield debt and a follow-on stock offering. Recently, Jim has started his own firm, Plymouth Rock LLC, to assist small companies in dealing with their banking relationships, improve cash cash flow and assist with short term projects.
