Larry Platt is one of two Practice Area Leaders of the Financial Services Practice of K&L Gates and sits on the firm’s Management Committee. In 2007, Chambers USA, an independent and research-based guide to the legal profession, ranked K&L Gates as having one of the leading financial services practices in the country and Mr. Platt as one of the nation’s leading Consumer Financial Services Regulation Lawyers.
Mr. Platt concentrates his legal practice in representing purchasers and sellers of mortgage companies and mortgage-related assets, counseling clients on federal and state consumer credit laws and defending clients in government enforcement actions. Mr. Platt was named one of Washington’s ten most influential people on lending issues in September 2002 by Lending Intelligence Magazine. He was on the Board of Directors for Montgomery Housing Partnership, Inc., a non-profit, tax-exempt owner and developer of affordable housing in Montgomery County, MD.
He is the pro bono General Counsel for The Unitarian Universalists Affordable Housing Corporation and served for four years as counsel to the Board of Directors of St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Potomac, Maryland. Mr. Platt received his B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh and his J.D. from George Washington University. |
