Kevin Petrasic serves as Special Counsel at the Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS).  In this capacity, he handles a wide range of legal issues relating to legislative matters, legal policy, and developments in regulatory oversight and compliance policy, including privacy, lending and deposit-taking issues, and housing-related matters.  He also handles testimony preparation for the OTS, speech preparation for the OTS Director, and speaks at numerous conferences and forums on behalf of the OTS. 

Kevin previously served as the Managing Director of External Affairs at the OTS where he oversaw external and internal communications, and prior to that he served as the Director of Congressional Affairs, the agency’s chief liaison with Congress, and as OTS’s Legislative Counsel.  He also previously served as Counsel to the former House Banking Committee (currently, House Financial Services Committee).

Kevin joined the OTS at its inception in 1989 from the former Federal Home Loan Bank Board.  At the Bank Board, he served in various positions within the Chief Counsel’s Office, including as Assistant Chief Counsel in the agency’s former Corporate and Securities Division (currently, Business Transactions Division).

Kevin has a Juris Doctor degree from the Columbus School of Law at Catholic University in Washington, D.C., and he holds bachelor’s degrees in economics and political science from the University of Delaware.
