			<p>Gerald Alt is the founder, president and chief executive officer of HEART Financial Services, the nation’s largest specialty business focusing on home retention for borrowers and loss mitigation for lenders.  In the past year, HEART Financial Services has handled over 350,000 loans with a successful modification rate in excess of 40 percent — significantly higher than the industry average for foreclosure prevention.  </p>
       <P>     
Mr. Alt is an expert in default management, asset recovery risks, and effective foreclosure prevention techniques specifically tailored for the current market.  In addition to his work with HEART Financial Services, Mr. Alt is also president of LOGS Network, a nationwide consortium of commonly owned and centrally managed law firms and trustee companies providing real estate related legal and title services. In addition to his role in strategic planning, he has been a key contributor to the development of various proprietary technical and software systems released by the organization. Mr. Alt has been affiliated with LOGS Network since 1988.</P>

Prior to his work with HEART Financial Services and while with LOGS Network, Gerald served as director of legal services for the HUD Section 312 servicing vendor Computer Data Systems, Inc. (CDSI), where he collaborated with members of HUD’s Washington staff, coordinated field counsel, and handled congressional inquiries.</P>
<P>
Before assuming his national management position with LOGS, Mr. Alt, who is a licensed attorney, had a private legal practice in the state of Michigan where he handled complex real estate and title matters. During that time, he handled or supervised more than 15,000 residential foreclosures and represented numerous lenders, bankruptcy trustees, creditor committees, and other creditors in Chapter 7, 11, 12, and 13 bankruptcy cases. His practice also included residential and commercial evictions, land contracts, eminent domain, boundary dispute, title and survey cases affecting residential and commercial real estate, and commercial litigation in state, U.S. District Court and U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals appellate matters. </P>
<P>
Mr. Alt is a frequent speaker and presenter at industry conferences, and has participated in numerous roundtable discussions as well as panels for the Mortgage Bankers Association, Fiserv, Alltel, Five Star and Standard & Poor’s.  Mr. Alt has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan and a Juris Doctor degree from Wayne State Law School in Detroit, Michigan.
