Dr. Gary Wood brings invaluable insight regarding ways in which the state of the economy affects the distressed debt business. Originally from Waco, Texas, Dr. Wood earned his Ph.D. in Banking and Finance from the University of Texas at Austin. Focused on his dedication to public service and education, his career to-date includes service with the U.S. Air Force and the Central Intelligence Agency; as Staff Economist for Senator John Tower; Chief Economist of the Republican Policy Committee, U.S. Senate; Finance Professor and Director of Governmental Affairs at Baylor University; and is a former Director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. Dr. Wood was a member of the Regional Advisory Oversight Board of the R.T.C., and was appointed by President Reagan to the board of the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation. Prior to joining CFSI, Dr. Wood also served as President of the Texas Research League and since 2001 has been a member, and is past president, of DBA International, the national trade association of the debt buying industry. In 2008, Dr. Wood was appointed to the Board of Texas Public Finance Authority.
