Martin Becker is a Senior Consumer Affairs Specialist with the FDIC's Division of Supervision and Consumer Protection. He is one of FDIC's foremost experts on the rules and regulations for calculating FDIC Deposit Insurance coverage. He is the primary or contributing author of numerous FDIC deposit insurance publications including "Your Insured Deposits", "The Financial Institution Employees Guide to Deposit Insurance" and the "FDIC Guide to Calculating Deposit Insurance Coverage for Revocable and Irrevocable Trusts."
His twenty nine years of financial industry experience includes oversight as a Managing Agent for receivership institutions, oversight of the payment of deposit insurance for failed banks as well as educating and assisting thousands of depositors, bankers and other professionals in the calculation of FDIC deposit insurance coverage.
Martin Becker is a 1980 graduate of UMBC with a BA in Economics and has a J.D. from the University of Baltimore, School of Law. He is both a CPA and an attorney licensed in Maryland and Washington, D.C.
