Brian Mauntel is Senior Vice President, Business Banking, for Fifth Third Bancorp. Mr. Mauntel leads the Business Banking and Small Business Administration (SBA) groups, partnering with small business owners and entrepreneurs to assist them in realizing their financial goals. These dedicated groups provided lending, treasury management, international and wealth management products and services designed specifically for small businesses. He joined the company more than 18 years ago.

In his previous role as Senior Vice President, Business Banking, for Fifth Third Bank, Chicago, he oversaw Business Banking for one of the fastest growing affiliates in the Fifth Third network. Mr. Mauntel also served as the executive sponsor of Fifth Third Bank Chicago’s Diversity and Inclusion Council, which strives to assist the Bank in its efforts to recruit, retain, develop and reward top performing employees.

Prior to working in Business Banking for Fifth Third, Mr. Mauntel served as Senior Vice President of Commercial Services in Chicago, overseeing the Bank’s International Services, Public Funds, Correspondent Banking, Merchant Services and Leasing groups. Mr. Mauntel also previously led the Treasury Management and Large Corporate groups in Chicago. In addition to his responsibilities in the Chicago area, Mr. Mauntel also served as Vice President of Commercial Services for Northern Indiana and held commercial lending and credit roles in Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati.

Mr. Mauntel earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and MBA from Xavier University in Cincinnati. He is a member of the Chicago Council on Foreign Relations, the Japan American Society of Chicago, the British-American Business Council of Chicago and The Bankers Club of Chicago. Mr. Mauntel is a Business Trustee for the Associated Colleges of Illinois, serving on the Executive Committee. He is also on the board of the Catholic Charities of Chicago.
