Bill Gates is Senior Vice President and head of global product marketing at SmartStream Technologies, responsible for solution strategy and positioning, and go to market alliances. Bill joined SmartStream in March 2006.
Prior to SmartStream, Bill led the marketing group at SunGard’s business unit handling reconciliations, exception management and financial messaging, as well as product management for the financial messaging products. Bill came to SunGard from Reuters, where he was Vice President, Business Development and Alliance Programs, responsible for leading the effort to acquire new capabilities, principally in equities, through acquisition and by developing alliance activities in the Americas. Prior to the Business Development appointment, he handled two high-level strategy assignments for the Group’s Executive Committee, in foreign exchange and in equities; had responsibility for introducing a new equities straight through processing product line in the Americas; and led the development and global product launch of an electronic trading system for foreign exchange Forwards transactions.
Bill holds a B.A. degree in economics from the University of Chicago and did his graduate work (M.Sc. Econ) at the London School of Economics.
