Barbara has been working in the financial industry for over 23 years. She began her brokerage career in 1984 as a financial consultant at Merrill Lynch in Chicago after graduating Magna Cum Laude from Boston University.

In 1989, she was recruited by Shearson as a broker and coordinator for financial and estate planning. In 1997, Barbara was elected to participate for a two-year term on Salomon Smith Barney Director’s Advisory Group, a sounding board for management to focus on reform issues for brokers and clients of the firm. In 1998, Barbara appeared as the featured broker in “On Wall Street” magazine. She has been chosen as a guest speaker on the panel for the Chicago Retail Management Conference, has appeared in “Today’s Chicago Woman” magazine, appeared on a panel for the Women’s Bar Association on WTTW’s “Chicago Tonight” in 2002, and was selected as one of Research Magazine’s “Winner’s Circle Advisors” for the State of Illinois. Barbara has been a long-time member of the Smith Barney Director’s Council, having performed at the top 5% of the firm for the past 16 years.

Currently, Barbara leads one of the top wealth management teams for Smith Barney in Chicago. In June 2008 Barron’s Magazine named Barbara one of the top one hundred women Financial Advisors in the nation for the second year in a row. Also, in 2008 Chicago Magazine recognized Barbara as one of the top fifty Financial Advisors in Chicago. While her team role is still focused on financial and estate planning, she also focuses on client communications and multi-generational family dynamics.
