Veronica Meyers is an accomplished HR executive with a history of successful human resource engagements in corporate, consulting and academic domains. She has served in a variety of functional leadership roles including Compensation, HRIS and Reporting, Organizational Effectiveness, and HR Operations as well as her current top-level position as Vice President of Human Resources for Insurance Company of the West.
In between corporate roles, Veronica built a consulting practice, Systems Consulting Group, Inc., specializing in Strategic Business and Human Resources projects in the San Diego region with clients such as Sharp HealthCare, San Diego State University and San Diego Gas and Electric. She designed training curriculum for the HR Certificate Program offered through Professional Development San Diego State University and managed the program for five years. Through her work in the Certificate program, she identified a training need in the San Diego community and created a supervisory training program, “Front Line Management” which is still offered through the SDSU Professional Development as the “How to Supervise” series. For nine years, Veronica also taught HR courses to juniors and senior level students as a part-time faculty member of the SDSU College of Business.
Her corporate career history includes both global and domestic organizations ranging in size from 250 employees to 30,000 and revenues up to $10 billion. She has worked in insurance, healthcare, manufacturing, public utilities, financial services, retail/high tech, financial services and commercial real estate industries in addition to her service in academia. Among her career achievements are the successful integration of HR operations for a $2 billion, 6500 employee acquisition; the re-design and implementation of a compensation program for 10,000 employees; and the establishment of an HR Project Management Office (PMO) for a global financial services firm.
In 2004, Veronica served as a member of a Human Resource Certification Institute national committee to develop a competency model for the position of Chief Human Resource Officer. She holds a Master of Science in Business Administration from San Diego State University and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources through the Society for Human Resource Management.
