Sharon Ritchey is executive vice president and director of Hartford Life operations, technology and eBusiness, a functional organization supporting all of Hartford Life. Ritchey provides operational and technology leadership for Investments and Retirement, Individual Life, Group Benefits, and the International business segments.
Prior to joining Hartford Life as senior vice president and chief operating officer for its U.S. wealth management group in 2007, Ritchey was senior vice president of property and casualty operations for The Hartford. She had responsibility for commercial and personal lines agency service, as well as centers handling sales and service for the company’s affinity AARP Personal Lines program.
Ritchey, who has 26 years of operations and marketing management experience in the financial services industry, joined The Hartford in April 1999 as the chief operations officer for the affinity unit in personal lines.
Before joining The Hartford, Ritchey worked at GE Capital. Her responsibilities included spearheading the Six Sigma initiative across GE Capital's consumer financial services business. She subsequently served as a marketing manager at GE Capital auto financial services where she oversaw the development and implementation of a consumer leasing product. Prior to GE Capital, Ritchey spent 12 years with Citibank serving in a variety of marketing and operations positions across the consumer banking business.
Ritchey earned her Bachelor of Arts and Master’s of Business Administration degrees from Eastern Kentucky University as well as an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.
In November 2008, Insurance Networking News named Ritchey one of its 2008 Women in Insurance Leadership based on her contributions to The Hartford and the insurance industry, as well as her community involvement.
Business Insurance magazine named Richey one of its 2008 Women to Watch in December 2008. This recognition was based on Ritchey’s professional achievements, influence on the marketplace and contributions to the advancement of women in business.
